Founded in 1989 as the Atlanta International Museum of Art & Design, this institution evolved into the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA), becoming the Southeast’s only museum exclusively dedicated to design. In 2011, it relocated to a LEED Platinum-certified building in Midtown, reflecting its commitment to sustainability.

MODA offers dynamic exhibitions across various design disciplines, including architecture, industrial and product design, interiors, furniture, graphics, and fashion. Notable past exhibitions have explored Italian motorcycle craftsmanship and the evolution of skateboard art. The museum also engages the community through educational programs, workshops, and lectures, fostering a deeper appreciation for design’s impact on daily life.

Did you know that MODA holds the distinction of being a Smithsonian Affiliate, connecting it to a broader network of cultural institutions?
