The Gwynns Falls Trail is a 22-mile continuous hiking and biking route winding through Baltimore’s largest green corridor, following the Gwynns Falls stream from wooded parklands to the bustling Inner Harbor. Cutting through Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park—the second-largest urban woodland in the U.S.— this scenic trail connects neighborhoods, historic sites, and nature reserves, offering a unique blend of urban exploration and outdoor adventure.
With a 10.75-mile mainline and scenic branches like the Middle Branch, Hutton, and Dickeyville Trails, the route mixes forest paths, boardwalks, and on-street sections, making each stretch a new experience. Cyclists and hikers will pass through colonial mill villages, cross ivy-draped bridges, and follow the Patapsco River into downtown. As part of the East Coast Greenway, the Gwynns Falls Trail links over 2,000 acres of parkland, making it one of the region’s most dynamic and accessible outdoor escapes.
