Where the Star-Spangled Banner was born: a compact fort with sweeping harbor views and living history. It’s an easy win—flat paths, open lawns, and a visitor film that sets the scene in under 15 minutes.

Start at the visitor center for your map, then follow the ramp to the east wall for the best harbor vantage. Time your visit for a flag raising or lowering—the ranger talk turns the place into a story you’ll remember.

For a slower visit, circle the star-shaped ramparts clockwise and watch ships move in and out of the Patapsco.

Baltimore’s Creative Alliance is where art, culture, and community collide in one of the city’s most dynamic venues. Located in the historic Patterson Theater, this hub for creativity offers live performances, contemporary art exhibitions, and cultural festivals that bring together audiences and artists from all backgrounds.

The venue features two galleries, a 200-seat theater, artist live/work studios, and the Marquee Lounge, making it a go-to destination for everything from independent films and global music to spoken word and immersive performances. In 2022, Creative Alliance expanded with the Creativity Center, a space dedicated to hands-on arts education with a dance studio, professional kitchen, and classrooms.

Signature events like the Great Halloween Lantern Parade transform Baltimore’s streets into glowing rivers of light, while year-round workshops invite visitors to get creative themselves.
