Woodruff Park

Woodruff Park was established in 1973 through a generous donation from the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation. Spanning six acres, this urban retreat offers a peaceful respite amidst the city’s hustle and bustle. It reflects Atlanta’s dynamic history and commitment to public spaces, hosting numerous cultural and social events that draw locals and tourists alike.

The park features a variety of attractions, including a performance pavilion, two fountains, and the iconic “Phoenix Rising from the Ashes” sculpture, symbolizing Atlanta’s rise from the Civil War’s devastation. Its lush lawns and shaded walkways are perfect for leisurely strolls or picnics, while the chess and game corner attracts enthusiasts keen on competition and camaraderie. Regular events like yoga classes and outdoor concerts add to the park’s lively atmosphere.
