Santa Ana Zoo

The Santa Ana Zoo, founded in 1952 at Prentice Park, has been a wildlife sanctuary and a center of community engagement for over 70 years. It was gifted to the city under the condition of maintaining at least 50 monkeys and has grown into a 20-acre haven that hosts over 350 animals.

The zoo’s charm lies in its commitment to South American species, offering a glimpse into the exotic wildlife of the continent. Noteworthy attractions include the Amazon’s Edge habitat, showcasing a lush rainforest environment, and the “Colors of the Amazon” aviary, teeming with birds. The Crean Family Farm is a hands-on experience where visitors can interact with domestic animals- including goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, and cows- emphasizing the zoo’s family-friendly appeal.
